Enhancing Capacity of Community-Based Midwives and Improving Standards of Maternal and Newborn Care

SOWMY Country Profile

The Center is collaborating with Project HOPE to assist the Government of Indonesia (GOI) in its efforts to accelerate the reduction of maternal and neonatal mortality by building capacity of community based midwives to provide quality maternal and newborn care including emergency care in rural communities, and supporting sustainable and resilient health systems. We also support the Bidan Delima program, a midwife accreditation program launched by Ikatan Bidan Indonesia (Indonesian Midwives Association) in 2003, to educate and incentivize Indonesian private midwives to meet and maintain the standard of care.
